Managing teacher roles and permissions

In this article, we’ll walk you through the different permission levels, how to assign them in Momoyoga, and how to review which teacher has which role. With Momoyoga, you can customize teacher permissions based on each teacher’s role within your studio. Some teachers may need extended access for admin tasks, while new teachers only view their own classes.

How to assign access levels to teachers

  1. Go to Teachers
  2. Select the teacher whose access level you want to edit or create a new teacher
  3. Navigate to Role
  4. Choose the appropriate access level for this teacher (we’ll explain the differences in the next section).
  5. Click Save to confirm your changes

Understand what each access level includes

There are four levels of access you can assign to teachers in Momoyoga:

Guest access

This role is meant for guest teachers who only need to see their own classes. They can't manage the schedule, view orders, see yogi details, or contact yogis. However, they can take attendance of their own classes.

Limited access
Teachers with limited access can manage most day-to day tasks, such as classes and yogis. They can view yogi contact details, but they cannot view or manage orders.

Extended
Extended access includes everything from Limited access. It also adds the ability to view and manage orders, including handing order details, refunds and payment information.

Full access
This role gives teachers the same access as the studio owner. They can manage everything in the studio, including settings, customisable emails, or pricing options. Giving teachers full access is only available on the Plus plan

Giving teachers Full access is exclusive to the Plus plan, while Limited, Extended access and Guest access are included in all plans.

How to check a teacher’s current access level

After assigning your teacher the right access level, you can see an overview by following the below steps:

  1. Go to Teachers
  2. On this page, you'll find a “Role” column that shows each teacher’s access level

An Owner always has Full access. This role cannot be changed.

Restricting teachers from seeing your yogi database

In some cases, you may want teachers to not have access to any personal information of your yogis. To enforce this, assign the teacher Guest access. With this role, teachers can only view class details and mark attendance of yogis in their class but cannot edit or view any additional yogi details such as email addresses, phone numbers, payment information, or other personal data.

If a teacher attempts to use a function they don’t have permission for, Momoyoga will block the action and display the following notification:
